Thanks to reporter Kyle Wells and the Powell River Peak for giving CJMP FM some coverage in this week’s issue, featuring a delightful photo of our board of directors dressed warmly for the freak weather conditions in the studio.
Don’t forget about this bit:
A fundraising concert will be held Saturday, November 27 at the Cranberry Community Hall featuring three local reggae and dub deejays and deejay and rapper Mista Chatman from Seattle. Tickets for the 8 pm show are $10 and all the proceeds will go into the station. Society members are doing all they can to jumpstart the station and the vast majority of them have already agreed to donate one day’s wages to help with start-up costs.
This event is going to be the feel-good party of the year, so come on out and dance and donate!
Oh, and don’t forget that we are still accepting donations to help us get back up and running. Give early, give often!!
Hi Radio Lovers!
The memberships/promotions/outreach team have reserved a space in the Powell River Santa Claus Parade on Sunday December 5. YAY!
Our vision is to have as many radio members as possible, dressed in bright solid colours, to walk as a big group. If you have a radio (functioning or not) to wear on your shoulder that would be great. Some t-shirt transfers with our logo will be available at our public meeting meeting on Friday December 3rd. (5:30 PM at the Community Resource Centre in Powell River.)
Dress up bright, grab some neighbours and a radio. If you have the time, make a sign supporting community radio!
Meet at 2:00 PM on Old Westview at the corner on Marine (or just up from there).
Make our presence known to Cathy Macdonald who will be riding a scooter and she’ll place us.
