Position Title: Fundraiser Coordinator
Classification: Short term, independent contract Oct 12- Nov 2, 2011. Hours approx. 50-70 (including actual Funding Drive period of Oct. 21-31, 2011)
Reports to: Powell River Community Radio Society (PRCRS) Board Liaison
Compensation: Depends on experience and abilities; wage based on amount raised, as well as on a small stipend. (Contracted position will cover all employment-related expenses and contributions)

Position Summary & General Qualifications:
Successful candidates will:
Have experience in fundraising and Public/Media Relations (required); Event coordination experience is also required;
Communicate daily throughout the contract period, with their PRCRS Board liaison; The PRCRS Board has final authority on all planned events/activities
Have the ability to quickly plan –and communicate plans for– appropriate fundraising events on a very tight budget, and to follow through with the help of volunteers;
Have excellent verbal communication, written communication, computer skills (ability to use graphic programs, Social Media, Blogging, Excel, Word very effectively) and sales ability; Ability to speak/write French is an asset
Have the ability to manage money and to report detailed financials to Board liaison as needed and as compiled in a final report to the Board;
Have experience, knowledge and willingness to learn about Community Radio. Knowledge of — and familiarity with — the Powell River community and CJMP are great assets; The coordinator’s plans must fit into the Society’s values/mission/purposes as found at: http://old.cjmp.ca/mission-vision-purposes-statements/
Have the ability to coordinate volunteers and programmers, and to get along with a wide variety of personalities;
Candidates will be outbound calling/recruiting local business and community leaders through telephone and in-person sales, as well as connecting with volunteer/participants in local fundraising events.
Candidate must have a friendly and professional speaking voice with strong phone etiquette skills, positive and energetic attitude, and strong desire to meet goals and commitments.
This position requires between 50-70 hours. Flexibility offered.
Process incoming and prepare outgoing mail.
Have close association with PRCRS Board and On-Air Promotions director and Promotions Outreach Membership/ Fundraising (POM-POM-FUN) Team; Work effectively and respectfully with volunteer staff
Reasonable fundraising goals activities, budgets, and expense sheets will be established by the Board liaison. A reasonable quota will be established that needs to be met.
Fundraiser Coordinator will research and contact potential funders.
Develop an annual fundraising plan and budget. Develop revenue and expense reports for all fundraiser events after the event is completed.
Takes the full responsibility to lead in initiating, planning, and implementing all necessary activities, in a timely manner, to ensure that program goals and objectives are accomplished.
Candidate will represents CJMP and PRCRS at relevant community meetings, outreach events, radio/TV shows, and other community settings during this stated period;
Candidate will submit documents and reports in a timely manner to meet stated deadlines.
Search and research potential donors and foundations to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.
