As a Sustaining Member, you can feel you are directly contributing to local independent non-profit media, and helping to maintain our programming like CJMP News and all our excellently diverse music and spoken word programs, PLUS you can help fund our proposed move to a newly wheelchair-accessible studio location, and of course help fund our broadcast tower move as well to help dramatically increase our reach to our whole region and beyond to Texada Is., Savary Is.,Lund, and Courtenay/Comox!

- The Powell River Community Radio Society (operating CJMP) is holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, November 24th at 7PM at the Community Resource Centre. There are a few spots available on the board of directors, so if YOU are passionate about radio and have mad skills in the areas of community development, radio tech, computers, event organization, the arts and the like, why not run for election? Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
The Powell River Community Radio Society (PRCRS, operating CJMP 90.1 FM) are very happy to announce that as part of Powell River Community Forest Ltd (PRCF) recommendations for additional 2015 grants from the Community Forest Reserve Fund, a motion was passed on September 23, 2015 by the PRCF board of directors recommending that CJMP Powell River Community Radio be awarded $5,750 as a partial contribution towards purchase of new equipment and relocation of a new transmitter to ensure coverage for entire community.
This was the final piece of money that was requested for the Signal Strength project, and with this grant, our “Signal Boost” or “Tower Relocation” fund now has enough money
to purchase all the required equipment. The only thing left to account for is the additional $10,000 that’s estimated to come from a Telus tower rental agreement. They’ve finished the Site Analysis Study – we now have to wait for Rogers to finish one of their installs. The dream of having CJMP more easily available to the entire community is becoming a reality! If you would like to contribute toward this project, please click “donate” below to donate any amount (using PayPal, Debit or Credit card). Cheques can be made out to”
