Scrubbing in support of Powell River Community Radio

The coveted bathroom cleaning prize from CJMP’s Top the Tower campaign went to Debbie, who kindly donated it to the Powell River Brain Injury Society.

Our board chair Tara Thurber was happy to oblige. Thank you Tara and thank you Debbie!

Thank you 2016 Reuse-a-Thon volunteers and deal-seekers!

IMG_2765On Saturday, April 30, 2016 CJMP 90.1 FM held it’s first ever Reuse-a-Thon benefit garage sale in partnership with Career Link and the Community Resource Centre.

It was a busy morning at the station with CJMP programmers Bad Karen and Giovanni Spezzacatena going live on air during the event.

Thanks to volunteers and deal-seekers, the benefit raised nearly $400 in support of CJMP, and another $400 for the Powell River Community Resource Centre.

Spezzacatena who organized the event said “Many thanks to all those who attended the ‘pay-as-you-like’ sale, to those who donated the great items for sale, as well as to über-volunteers Dolores de la Torre, Annabelle Tully-Barr, Career Link staff members Nicole Townsend, Giovanna Zammit, and Kate Cooper, and to CJMP’s landlord for offering the sale location free of charge!”
