Things got sudsy on Sunday, August 14, as Powell River Fire Rescue generously threw their efforts into a car wash for CJMP’s Top the Tower Campaign.
Working tirelessly in between calls, the firefighters washed cars at a fast and furious pace while still taking time to smile and share a splashy laugh or two.
Thanks to Powell River Fire Rescue over $450 was raised towards CJMP’s Top the Tower Campaign. Special thanks to CJMP sponsors First Credit Union & Insurance for the use of their Joyce Avenue parking lot and their tent as well—the shade was much appreciated on such a blessedly hot day.
Special thanks to all the firefighters, volunteers and CJMP people who made the day such a fun success.
First Credit Union Donated $500 to “Top the Tower Campaign” last night at the Movie Under the Stars event at Larry Gouthro Park, in Powell River, BC.
CJMP’s own promotions director Bad Karen Skadsheim and Powell River Community Radio Society director Suzan Roos very happily accepted the big check, plus CJMP will get the concession stand proceeds, as well!
CJMP thanks First Credit Union, who are already sponsors of CJMP, and have gone that extra mile to help us “Top the Tower” (i.e. help us raise our goal of $15,000 to move our current signal location to Gallagher Hill in Cranberry, which would increase our potential broadcast range by 300% or more).
We encourage local businesses and non-profits to donate via Sponsorships, individuals/families to become Sustaining Members, and everyone to donate what they can to “Top the Tower“!
Oh! And if your car needs a wash (and whose doesn’t?) keep it filthy for us until this Sunday August 14th? Why, you ask?
We have a CJMP benefit Firefighter Car Wash going on in the First Credit Union parking lot on Joyce Avenue from 11AM-3PM. By donation (we suggest $10, but pay what you can). See you there. We think it’ll be a hot one!
We will have t-shirts and memberships for sale as well and wet soapy fun galore. Want to help us out? Just drop on by.
