CJMPeople create jobs in the community!
We would like to welcome to the CJMP community our first paid Staff Positions made possible by the SIN:CERE project!
Volunteer Coordinator, Courtney Harrop, has been volunteering for CJMP for the past four years as Host of The Film and Festival Express (Sundays 2-5PM) and as the Station Manager for CJMP in 2013. She brings skills in community and event organizing, multimedia publishing and audio and social media production.
First Nations Language Program Coordinator, Devin Pielle is a sought after media producer from the Tla’Amin Nation who co-created the award winning documentary “We Are Still Here”, and worked to build the First Voices Website. Devin will continue her work to rebuild the Tla’Amin Language by creating and adding Tla’Amin Language programming to CJMP. She will also be working with the Klahoose and Secwépemc Nations to build relationships and share skills.
Tara Thurber grew up in the Powell River Regional District but spent four years working in community radio in Nanimo, where among other things, she designed and implemented multimedia training. Tara joins CJMP as our Membership Coordinator in response to the growing needs of our organization.
“We can’t believe CJMP has created Jobs for people in three communities with SIN:CERE!” Program Director Zoe Ludski stated. “When our members and volunteers were asked, we heard that CJMP needed stronger outreach to new members, and to engage volunteers in a more organized way.” It is a common problem for Community radio stations to struggle for more organization around Members and Volunteers regarding tracking hours, subscriptions, funding and fundraising. As CJMP grows our new Staff look forward to speaking with you! Please phone the station or drop by to say hello. Let’s find the right role for you!
